Holiday Inn Express Inn and Suites – Savannah, GA

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Inn and Suites in Savannah at I-95 exit 94 this past May. The hotel looks to be fairly new.

They have an outdoor whirlpool and free Wi-Fi access. Our rate included a free hot continental breakfast, which was very good. There is a Cracker Barrel and Applebee’s Restaurant within walking distance, plus quite a few other choices. It’s an easy on-off from I-95 if you’re passing thru the area.

This was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed on I-95, and we will definitely be staying there again on future trips!

North Carolina

Comfort Inn Gateway – Rocky Mount, NC

This Comfort Inn seemed modern and very well kept. The rooms were nice and clean. The bathroom was nice with plenty of towels.

We went to the Outback for dinner located right next door and then the kids and I swam at the hotel pool. They have the basic free continental breakfast that was good enough to fill us up so we could get back on the road. Try to request a non-smoking room if you are not a smoker because you could definitely smell the cigarette smell in the rooms.

I would stay there again. We paid about $94 with taxes.

Hyatt Place Universal Studios – Orlando, FL

This is one of several Hyatt Place properties in the Orlando area. It was previously an AmeriSuite, and is a relatively new property. It’s located on Caravan Court, just across from Universal Studios. Rooms are comfortable and resaonably priced. All rooms have a 42″ flat panel high-definition television, a plush oversized sofa sleeper that is separated from the sleeping area, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi internet access. We’ve stayed at the other Hyatt Place on International Drive and this one is pretty much the same.

Guests enjoy a free continental breakfast each morning and can purchase freshly prepared menu items 24 hours a day. Premium espresso drinks, beer and wine are also available at the Gallery Café. They also have a fitness center and an outdoor heated pool. The staff was extremely accommodating when we checked in and frequently asked if everything was ok.

There’s a Denny’s, Cracker Barrel and TGI Friday’s adjacent to Amerisuites, well within walking distance. Considering what you get for the price, I would rate this Hyatt Place an 8 on a scale of 1-10.

Hyatt Place Convention Center – Orlando, FL

One of our favorite locations to stay while in the Orlando area is on the south end of International Drive, near the Orange County Convention Center. That part of “I-Drive” is newer and far less gaudy than the north end. We’ve stayed at most of the hotels here at one time or another and Hyatt Place is one of the better bargains on International Drive.

We had a spacious guestroom with a 42″ flat panel high-definition television, a plush oversized sofa sleeper that is separated from the sleeping area, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi Internet access throughout the hotel.

The “Gallery” is a warm and open area that features a self-registration kiosk, an small coffee and wine cafe, a TV den and an e-room with free access to a public computer and printer.

Guests can purchase hot breakfast entrees along with Starbucks specialty coffees or enjoy a free continental breakfast. Hyatt Place also offers a variety of freshly prepared, cafe quality items, including made-to-order entrees, sandwiches, soups, salads and pizza which guests can order 24 hours a day, seven days a week via a touch screen menu in the Guest Kitchen or from the Guest Host.

The complimentary fitness center is equipped with state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment… the cardio machines even let users watch their TV programming while exercising.

Another nice thing about the location is that there is plenty of diversions within walking distance… great restaurants, shopping and attractions, far too much to list here.

Considering what you get for the price, I’d give this Hyatt Place an 8 on a scale of 1-10.
