Days Inn Riverwalk Downtown - San Antonio, TX
My family and I arrived in San Antonio, at the Riverwalk Area. We had a coupon book with discount on local hotels in the area we had called numerous hotels around the area and found many rooms available close the riverwalk, we selected Days Inn at the Riverwalk location. When we arrived at Days Inn the appearence of the hotel was about average nothing to brag about.
During registration we had complications with Visa card not processing properly the network was out of service. We paid cash for the room, room #102 we had noticed that the hotel clerk was very rude to the customers while he was registering other people ,we didn’t think that this was very
professional. The clerk informed us that our room was across the street from main Days Inn building, when we arrived at the room we found that all the floor tile where loose in the bathroom, the tile where not attached with any type of adhesive, the bathtub had been painted two different types of white to cover up the the rusted out tub, there was holes in the ceiling located in the bathroom, the bathroom exhaust fan did not have a cover over light bulb or over the exposed fan blade, the ceramic tile had not been cleaned there was algae on most of tile, the sink in the bathroom had two broken handles on the faucets, the two double beds had busted springs in the matress, the bed had cigarette burns in the blankets, cigarette burns on the carpet, cigarette burns on the drapes, this was supposed to be a non-smokers room, the door wouldn’t lock, you could see through the crack between the door and the door jamb some privacy.
We contacted Days Inn complaint dept a 1-880 number about the quality of our room, Days Inn said that this would take up to two weeks to recieve a response on this problem, some Customer service. We waited two weeks from Days Inn for a response they never called or contacted us. I called Customer service today about this problem, they informed me that we never stayed at the Days Inn in San Antonio, but we did stay at a place called the Downtowner which is owned by the same people that owned Days Inn, we where ripped off! Our receipt said Days Inn San Antonio, there was no indication that we where staying anywhere else except for Days Inn the maid left a card with his name on it in our room.
Days Inn refuses to do anything for us!!!! The customer service people I spoke with was very rude and hateful! I am contacting the Better Business Office of San Antonio, Chamber of Commerence of San Antonio, Attorney General of Rexas region. This is hotel chain Days Inn committed fraud and should be dealt with???
I took numerous photos of this dump and will submit them to various organizations dealing with travel and hotel accomadations.
I will never patronize a Days Inn again, they do not care For there customers at all!
