The front desk personnel, although adequate, were less than cordial, and made me feel as though I were an intruder and that they were very put upon to serve me. It took forever to figure out that the previous guest had switched the phone over to dataport and not switched it back. Even after this was remedied, I still had a lot of trouble with the needlessly complicated (outdated) phone system. And I ended up having to call in through the business line to get a wake-up call and other assistance, since the "front desk" button just rang and rang. The bed was uncomfortable, the walls *very* thin, and the room was obviously a smoking room, even though I’d specifically reserved non-smoking.

Also, I was given a room on the backside of the hotel, facing the large ugly wall of the business next door. Almost no daylight reaches this side of the hotel, and I found it quite depressing.

Not much sleep that night, after driving in from Knoxville. (Of course, like everyone else, I had two very important meetings the next day . . . .)

I realize Days Inn is a budget hotel, but as a business traveler, I (and my company) require more for the price.
