LaQuinta Crabtree Inn and Suites – Raleigh, NC

LaQuinta Crabtree Inn is definitely the place to stay. As soon as we got to our room, we noticed we had a telephone message–from the staff welcoming us.

Rooms were larger than your average hotel room, very clean ( our room looked as if we were the first persons to stay there), and the staff was great. They informed us that they had a special until the end of May – so we received a discount on our stay. We had a free breakfast and free USA Today. too They have a heated outdoor pool and spa (seasonal) and a fitness center. Our room had free high-speed Internet access too.

The hotel was located minutes from RBC Center, the NC State Fairgrounds and the NC State University. There were plenty of restaurants, golf courses, museums, and shopping nearby.  The only problem we encountered is that the hotel is a little hard to find. It is located on a side street away from the main road.

Our rates were reasonable, about $75 a night. I would recommend this hotel.

Comfort Inn – Smithfield, NC

This Comfort Inn is a really nice hotel! The staff was helpful and courteous, and our room was spacious. Everything was very clean and well-organized. An easy and relaxing place to stay.

This exit (Exit 95) is near a big commercial strip with all kinds of shopping and motels. I think this Comfort Inn is the nicest of them all. I think it’s fairly new. There is a Golden Corral, Texas Steakhouse and Ruby Tuesday within walking distance, just in case you don’t want to travel far to grab a bite to eat. Carolina Premium Outlet Mall with over 80 brand name retail outlets and restaurants nearby. Ten-screen movie theatre within walking distance too.

I would definitely stay there again!

Travelodge Grand Canyon – Flaggstaff, AZ

I spent one night at the Flagstaff  University/Grand Canyon Travelodge, after making a reservation online. The website promised clean, spacious rooms and two spas with a sauna. Unfortunately, the reality was far different than what was portrayed at the Travelodge website. Our room was dingy and shabby, bathroom looked like it hadn’t really been cleaned in ages, and the water in the spa looked so bad that we weren’t about to get in. If I’d been able to find any other accomodations that weekend, I certainly would have, but the Flagstaff tourist season is very busy and there was no other lodging available.

The rates at Travelodge were no more reasonable than other hotels and motels in the area. So if you’re traveling to Flagstaff, I recommend not staying at this Travelodge!!

Embassy Suites – Raleigh, NC

Three friends and myself planned a “getaway” for a night and truly recieved that when we stayed at Embassy Suites across from Crabtree Mall.

After dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, we proceeded to the hotel to check-in. The wait to check-in was about 20 minutes, which was a little annoying, but the front desk was very apologetic and even sent a gift basket to our room because we had to wait!

The hotel has a Bistro and Bar, a beautiful indoor pool and whirlpool, a fitness center and a computer work station with printing capabilities. In addition the hotel offers complimentary transportation within a two-mile radius based upon availability and to and from Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The suites are two rooms with a mini refrigerator and microwave. There is also a nightly manager’s reception.

Breakfast the next morning was amazing! I have stayed here three times and each time it has been a delightful stay!

Jameson Inn – Smithfield, NC

Frequently we travel on business and are always looking for a reasonably priced room with amenities for the business traveler. Smithfield is our halfway point on the way to Florida and we’ve stayed at this Jameson Inn several times.

Their rooms are great for people who need to do business while on the road. Their service is great, guests also can enjoy a complimentary breakfast with Belgian waffles, there is an internet computer kiosk in the lobby, you get a complimentary weekday newspaper, there is an on-site fitness center, and a nice swimming pool. Rooms include comfortable Dreamium pillowtop beds, work area with free wireless internet access, 25″ television with cable or satellite TV and a premium movie channel, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, free local calls, and alarm clock radio.

Next door to this Jameson Inn is a Texas Steakhouse… good food!
