The Peabody – Orlando, FL

The Peabody is without question the nicest, most elegant hotel we have stayed at! The high-rise hotel is truly grand and imacculate, with soft lighting accentuating the marble floors and walls in the lobby area. The grounds are lush and tropical, with large fountains flanking the entrance. The staff is excellent… very knowledgable and always willing to help… courteous, too. The beds are the most comfortable you can ever find of any hotel, anywhere… more comfortable than home!

We got an excellent deal on hotwire.com and saw similar good deals on other sites as well, so the bargains are fairly easy to be found for this 5-star hotel, if you’re a little flexible about when you visit. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Orlando area. HIGHLY recommended.

Hyatt Place Universal Studios – Orlando, FL

This is one of several Hyatt Place properties in the Orlando area. It was previously an AmeriSuite, and is a relatively new property. It’s located on Caravan Court, just across from Universal Studios. Rooms are comfortable and resaonably priced. All rooms have a 42″ flat panel high-definition television, a plush oversized sofa sleeper that is separated from the sleeping area, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi internet access. We’ve stayed at the other Hyatt Place on International Drive and this one is pretty much the same.

Guests enjoy a free continental breakfast each morning and can purchase freshly prepared menu items 24 hours a day. Premium espresso drinks, beer and wine are also available at the Gallery Café. They also have a fitness center and an outdoor heated pool. The staff was extremely accommodating when we checked in and frequently asked if everything was ok.

There’s a Denny’s, Cracker Barrel and TGI Friday’s adjacent to Amerisuites, well within walking distance.¬†Considering what you get for the price, I would rate this Hyatt Place an 8 on a scale of 1-10.

Disney’s Wilderness Resort – Lake Buena Vista, FL

If you’ve got the money and want the 24-hour Disney experience, this is a great place to stay. Rustic, peaceful and a little of the beaten path, Fort Wilderness Resort is especially nice during the Tranksgiving and Christmas holidays.

We really enjoyed staying here. It’s smaller than most of the Disney hotels so it’s quieter. Our housekeeper was great – she arranged the kids stuffed animals into little scenes each day. They couldn’t wait to get back to the room to see what she had done that day. For example – one day she brought a pack of cards and arranged the animals in a circle with the cards laid out in front of them. One day she put the animals into pairs of the kids shoes and wrote a note saying ‘wait for me, I’m coming too’.

We loved it!

Staybridge Suites – Orlando, FL

This is our favorite suite hotel on International Drive. Our suite has two separate bedrooms and a comfortable living room with fully equipped kitchen. You can comfortably sleep up to 8 people. The heated swimming pool, wading pool and whirlpool are located in a nicely landscaped interior courtyard. The grounds are also heavily landscaped… it’s just a very comfortable atmosphere. There are plenty of the usual amenities. Let’s see… Oh yes, a free continental breakfast buffet every morning too!

We always tend to stay on the southern end of International Drive because the hotels and restaurants are newer, the sidewalks meander around landscaped islands and if we need to cross the road for any reason, there is a ribbon of landscaped median to find temporary refuge so you don’t have to fight four lanes of traffic all at once. This Staybridge Suites hotel is right in the middle of it all. There is so much to take in right here. Restaurants, shopping and attractions are all within a few minutes walk. After a day of traveling or theme parks you can spend the evening just walking. You’ll sleep like a baby!

Considering what you get for the money, I would rate this Staybridge Suites hotel a 10 on a scale of 1-10!

DoubleTree Suites – Lake Buena Vista, FL

We stayed at the Doubletree Suites in Disney Village, and it was a wonderful experience!

The staff was charming, and the decor was charming, fantastic if you have children with you. There is a huge atrium filled with tropical birds in the lobby, sure to keep the kids happy when watiting for an elevator… and it just looks so nice. The rooms were spotless, charming, and very comfortable.

We have our reservations for our next trip in 6 weeks , at the same hotel. I wouldn’t look anyplace else…
