Amid the many rundown motels in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area is a rare jewel–clean, well managed, fairly new, and just off the noisy main highway. Although not easy to find (enter via the Long John Silver parking lot) it was worth the search. For those doing a little research, this property was formerly a Guesthouse Inn.
The property was close to Dollywood and Bennett’s Barbeque, it’s reasonably priced, especially with the coupon in the lodging booklet available at the Tennessee Welcome Center. No, I don’t work for the company and had never heard of the LaQuinta chain before my family and I took a mini-vacation to the Smokey Mountains last fall. We picked up the coupon booklet, checked out and rejected about eight other establishments before finding a picture of LaQuinta in the booklet. It looked promising, and after driving past the inn several times (it’s back off the highway) we finally spotted it and were impressed with the lobby and friendly desk personnel.
The room we were shown smelled fresh, was brightly lit and nicely decorated, and had comfortable beds. We were very happy there and will return.
