Loading ...After driving over 13 hours in a major snow and ice storm, my family and I arrived at the Holiday Inn and were told that there was no room. I had made the reservation through Hotels.com nearly two months in advance and confirmed it directly with the hotel the day before arrival-and they still sold my room to someone else! I was given a choice of a smoking room in another hotel in Providence, or a room in a hotel at the airport, both of which I had stayed in before and knew to be inferior. After much vocal protesting I was sent to an acceptable hotel, by that time it was after nine o’clock at night.
