Fairfield Inn – Fayetteville, NC
This is your typical Fairfield Inn. This property has clean rooms, data ports, a small gym and is set back from I-95. Exit 49 (You can not hear the hummm of the road, which I feel, is important.) It offers a free continental breakfast with limited hot items. Book in advance and you can get substantial discounts. AAA and AARP are also accepted.
There are several restaurants nearby… Shoney’s, Cracker Barrel and Beaver Dam Seafood to name a few. This I-95 exit also has cheap gas prices. Amoco, Exxon and BP are just a few of the major brands.
Country Inn & Suites – Savannah, GA
This Country Inn & Suites is our first choice when traveling through the Savannah area on the way to Florida! There are several hotels at this exit (I-95 exit 19) and this one is by far the best!
Beautifully appointed accomaamodations… 27 inch tv with remote control, vcr, dataport telephone, hairdryer, iron and board, and in-room coffeemaker. All suites have full size sofabed, microwave, and refrigerator. The hotel also has a complimentary breakfast that features bagels, breads, muffins, hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit, juices, coffee, tea and other choices. They also have a social hour from 5pm-7pm Monday-Thursday and fitness and laundry facilities.
For lunch and dinner, there are all kinds of restaurants within 1 mile of the property, including Applebee’s, Cracker Barrel, Houlihan’s, & Ruby Tuesday.
The hotel is just a few miles away from Savannah area attractions including City Market, Savannah Theater, Savannah Mall, Savannah Outlet Mall, Fort Pulaski National Monument and the Juliet Gordon Low Birthplace. Check out the Savannah Riverboat Cruises.

Celie’s Water Front Inn – Baltimore, MD
The room decor and surrounding neighborhood are the best part of the stay at Celie’s Water Front Inn in Baltimore. The neighborhood is fun and full of charm too!
The place fails miserably if you’re hoping to sleep or expect some level of amenities like clean towels, a phone in your room, or someone to call after 5pm. No where does the web site indicate that your room is tucked above or in between bars with live music that vibrates your floor until 2 in the morning. The management considers their guests warned by describing the neighborhood as “active”.
For the money, this place is a thumbs down.
Hampton Inn – Santee, SC
I consider this one of the better hotels at this exit. The property is clean, the staff is friendly and they have a pretty good free breakfast. Our family has stayed there 3 times, and each time it has been a good experience. I rate them an 8 out of 10. The only thing that would make it better is a discounted price. Hampton Inn’s are generally a really nice place to stay and are very reliable.

Marriott Riverfront – Savannah, GA
This Marriott has a gracious staff… from housekeeping to front desk. The view from our riverfront balcony was awesome, seeing 7 – 8 story ships pass within a few yards was fun. Breakfast at “Riveredge”, the hotel restaurant, was great, with omlettes cooked to order in front of you, as well as Belgian waffles. The room was comfy, with a bit of elbow room at the two-part desk, a nice touch for those of us with laptops.
