Country Inn & Suites - Strafford, VA
A great little chain of very comfortable hotels. We are staying in several Country Inn & Suites during our trip to Florida. This hotel is located just off I-95 in Stafford, Virginia, about 10 miles north of Fredericksburg. There are several restaurants nearby that you could walk to as well as some shopping (Wal-Mart). The hotel desk person (Cathy) was very friendly and called our room a few minutes after we checked in to see if everything was OK. The free breakfast was very nice also.
Quality Inn - Petersburg, VA
We stayed at the Quality Inn in Petersburg. Our room was dirty. There was no place to eat nearby. It was only 6pm and the one and only resturant nearby was closed. It was also difficult getting off & on the interstate. The only nice thing about this Quality Inn was that the desk clerk was nice.
Hampton Inn - Woodbridge, VA
This hampton Inn is a relatively new facility. They have a nice indoor pool with Spa. The property and rooms are neat and clean. The The staff was Very helpful. Excellent breakfast selection. Not easy access intormation. Close to Metro to DC (9 miles)

For an inexpensive motel, it offers exceptionally large rooms and an expansive bathroom counter. Convenient to I-64 and Colonial Williamsburg. No attached restaurant, but there are tons of places to eat within a short drive.
