They have consistent quality services, amenities and properties. This Homewood is a newer property located near a shopping area and only a few minutes drive from Valley Forge.

We had a very nice 3 night stay on our recent get away weekend. Downtown Philadephia and all it’s attractions were about a 30-minute drive, which makes it real convenient if you plan to include Philly in your trip.

Our room was very spacious, and well maintained. Everyone from the front desk clerk to the maintenance people were very friendly and accommodating. The immediate area around the property has lots of restaurants and shopping. It’s really a great place to spend some time and Homewood Suites is a nice home base to discover the area.

Most attractive HD Television since I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental in DC. This is a newly-designed hotel in an older shell, and it shows with poor water pressure and absence of hot water on the 4th floor. Very good room service from their specialty restaurant, Jackson’s – the Shrimp & Chorizo Chowder and the Crab Cake Salad were wonderful. Very attentive staff… when I mentioned the lack of hot water they took 10% off of my bill AND arranged a complimentary breakfast – without my asking. I will return!

I would like to warn travelers against the Pittsburgh Marriott. I have stayed in the Marriott chain of hotels before and I have been pleased in all my previous stays. However, in this hotel, the toilet seat was stained, the tissues in the box were wet, the blanket had a large stain of what looked like a bodily fluid, there was no fan in the bathroom to remove steam so the shower made the bathroom excessively hot and steamy, and there was no parking that was subsidized by the hotel, so the guests were left to fend for themselves. Also, the vending machines were broken on our floor and others.

Staying here is like wandering into a page of Real Simple everything is neutral, expensive, and very, very convenient. The breakfast buffet offers excellent service though ordinary food. To get here, follow the hotel’s directions exactly; if you approach from any direction other than the Island Avenue exit from I-95, you will never, ever reach the hotel parking lot.

We were looking for a relaxing place to stay and spend time with our daughter, whom we were in town to visit. Overall, the hotel was excellent. The room was quite posh, except for a couple items in the bathroom, which astonished us since the rest of the hotel was so well turned out. Everytime you'd lift the toilet seat cover, the toilet seat would come with up with it. The shower curtain was a shear cloth that wasn't water proof and stuck to you immediately when you turned on the shower. I think with all the money and attention that was obviously put into decorating this Doubletree, they could have afforded better toilet seats and shower curtains, as these little things detracted from an otherwise outstanding room.

We were looking for a relaxing place to stay and spend time with our daughter, whom we were in town to visit. Overall, the hotel was excellent. The room was quite posh, except for a couple items in the bathroom, which astonished us since the rest of the hotel was so well turned out. Everytime you’d lift the toilet seat cover, the toilet seat would come with up with it. The shower curtain was a shear cloth that wasn’t water proof and stuck to you immediately when you turned on the shower. I think with all the money and attention that was obviously put into decorating this Doubletree, they could have afforded better toilet seats and shower curtains, as these little things detracted from an otherwise outstanding room. NOW, for the restaurant. The Brandywine Hunt Club Grille only had one thing on the menu that was outstanding, the Crab Bisque. Our daughter had tried it the night before and thought it was so good that we all decided to go down to the restaurant and have a full dinner there. It took forever to order since the waitress never came to check on us…for some reason the maitre’de had to come over and finally took our order. We waited and waited for the food, and our 17 month old started acting up, so we decided to ask for the food to go (to take back up to our room so we wouldn’t bother any of the other guests in the restaurant). They said no problem, we’ll have room service deliver it to you. Okay, so we go back up to our room. Mind you, this is after already waiting over 30 minutes after ordering. After we got to our room, it was another 45 minutes before our food was delivered and then it wasn’t even prepared correctly. I expect to have chicken included in a menu item called Medallions of chicken over angel hair pasta. I couldn’t find a single piece of chicken. My husband had a pasta dish that included lobster and shrimp. He got 2 pieces of each and the vegetables were way overcooked. Plus, all our food was cold. We were not happy with the cooking nor service in the restaurant.

I’m not happy that I did a search on the internet and couldn’t find a place to send my survey to Doubletree directly. I guess they don’t want our feedback. I’m a Lt Col in the Air Force and expect to be able to give feedback to the company. Leaving feedback with the local hotel doesn’t cut it since it’s too easy to throw away the ones they don’t like.

I would recommend staying at this hotel, however stay away from the on-site restaurant!!
