The Benjamin – New York, NY
The Benjamin is an elegant, welcoming, safe hotel that emphasizes service. Its all-cotton sheets and down comforters provide sleeping comfort. Alas, the rates have been raised since people have caught on to its appeal!
Marriott Marquis Times Square – New York, NY
I got a room on the 43rd floor via PriceLine for only $100/night. What a great deal. The rooms were spacious with two double beds, a sitting area and a desk. The location was perfect. The staff were very helpful with my requests. The only complaint about this hotel is with the elevators.
Mariott Courtyard JFK – New York, NY
This is a real pretty hotel. Great service, clean rooms, and good staff. The few down sides are small lobby, expensive room rates, and outrageous fees. It is beyond me that they charge a $1.00 to make local phone calls. This may not seem like much however if you use an dial up isp it can get costly. Also I was surprised not to see a high speed internet connection for business travelers. However they do provide the use of a free printer in the bar area.
Library Hotel – New York, NY
Excellent location on 41st at Madison; very accommodating staff; excellent room decor, cleanliness; bountiful complimentary continental breakfasts and afternoon wine/cheese/snack selections. We had a very pleasant 3-night stay in October.
Hotel Pennsylvania – New York, NY
This is not a very nice hotel. I can’t believe there are a lot of people staying at this hotel when we went there. The place looks nice on the outside but once you get to your room thats when the horror begins. First off, the carpet looked like it had blood stains on them and the hotel clerks couldn’t care less to clean them all up. But its actually RUST stains. It was all around the floor. The alarm clock wasn’t working; there was 1 trash can (none in the bathroom, very odd); there was no soap (lucky for us we brought our own).
