The room decor and surrounding neighborhood are the best part of the stay at Celie’s Water Front Inn in Baltimore. The neighborhood is fun and full of charm too!

The place fails miserably if you’re hoping to sleep or expect some level of amenities like clean towels, a phone in your room, or someone to call after 5pm. No where does the web site indicate that your room is tucked above or in between bars with live music that vibrates your floor until 2 in the morning. The management considers their guests warned by describing the neighborhood as “active”.

For the money, this place is a thumbs down.

The Commander is a Non-Smoking hotel on 14th street in a great location about midway on the boardwalk. All suites with a view of the ocean. We found the staff to be very efficient, friendly and helpful. We stayed in the 7th floor Captain's Suite two years in a row and are booking again for next year. It has a huge jacuzzi tub, with a double head shower. There is a small kitchen area with a full size refrigerator, microwave, sink, and cupboards. Dishes are provided as well as dish cloths, dish towels and dish soap. The maid changes the towel and dish cloth every day, but you are responsible for washing your own dishes.

The Commander is a non-smoking hotel on 14th street in a great location about midway on the Ocean City boardwalk. All suites have a view of the ocean. We found the staff to be very efficient, friendly and helpful. We stayed in the 7th floor Captain’s Suite two years in a row and are booking again for next year.

Our suite had a huge jacuzzi tub, with a double head shower. There was a small kitchen area with a full size refrigerator, microwave, sink, and cupboards. Dishes are provided as well as dish cloths, dish towels and dish soap. The maid changes the towel and dish cloth every day, but you are responsible for washing your own dishes.

This was a very comfortable place to stay. It was very roomy with a king size bed and a sleeper sofa… and the balcony is very big. We comfortably accomodated at least 15 people spread between the room and the balcony for a birthday open house. Although it sleeps 4 people, there is not enough storage for clothes for that many people. We found the storage for clothes lacking a little, but was okay for just the 2 of us.

There is a restaurant on site with a breakfast buffet. The food was okay, but I wouldn’t rate it the best, however, I thought the price was good.

The Commander does not have a big indoor pool, but it does have a very nice, small indoor pool (3 1/2 feet). They have an outdoor pool with a fountain in the middle and a poolside bar. We have never found parking to be a problem when we go here (usually in the middle of June.
We would definitly reccomend staying at The Commander.
This property is no exception. It’s right up there with the rest of them. It’s also one of the newer properties in the chain.

The hotel was very clean and our room was comfortable… and 100% smoke free. The staff was friendly and helped us with a number of questions we had about the area. All rooms feature microwave, fridge, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, coffee maker, cable television, alarm clock, voice mail, complimentary High-Speed Internet and work area. They have a fitness facility quipped with treadmills, bicycles and elliptical machines. Amenities also include a heated indoor pool and spa, guest laundry and business center.

Every morning you can wake up to fresh waffles and sausage gravy over biscuits. Breakfast also includes hot and cold cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, muffins, juice and coffee.

This is a great family inn, and there’s plenty to do in the area including shopping and restaurants. We’ll make it a point to stay here next time we’re in the area!
