St. James Hotel - New Orleans, LA
I just wanted others to be aware of the poor sanitary and service conditions that I experienced at the St. James in New orleans. At first the room appeared to be clean though after further inspection I found that there was hair all over the bathroom area. I stayed four nights and spent little time in the room though when I used it, soap, towels and the bath mat was never replaced. They failed to program my key correctly twice requiring me to return to the lobby usin their extremely slow elevator.
Royal St. Charles - New Orleans, LA
My husband & I stayed here a couple of weeks ago for 2 nights, off season. We had originally reserved a King Standard room. We got in there, and it was the tiniest room I had ever seen in my life. The bed barely fit in there, and since we were paying $99 a night, I wanted a bigger room. So we went back down, and the front desk lady upgraded us to a King Suite for $25 more a night. So far, we are out $50. Then they proceed to tell us that valet parking will be $24 a day, there’s another $48 dollars that we didn’t know about. Also, I would like to add that the valet people that they use, brought our car 1 hour late on one occassion where we had to actually be somewhere at a certain time, and we were late. And for being such a ritzy hotel, they practically had sandpaper for toilet paper in the bathrooms. I have on word…….Charmin Please!!!
Prytania Park Hotel - New Orleans, LA
Our trip was delayed 3 days due to Tropical Storm Bill. The reservationist coordinated slipping our dates, but said that our rates would double on the 4th of July. She said she would check with the manager to see if we could keep our original rates of $69/nt due to the unforeseen weather circumstances. She never called back. Before we left for N.O. on the morning of the 3rd, I called the hotel to confirm our rates and was told we would get the off season rate on the 3rd and have to pay full price ($139) on the 4th. When we got to the hotel, the manager said we had to pay the full price both nights. I told him what the reservationst told us that morning, and he said it didn’t matter because he was the manager and he wasn’t going to give us the off-season rates, even for the 3rd of July. He was extremely rude, even to the point of being hostile with us. He said it didn’t matter what the reservationist told us, that he had the final say on rates, and he wasn’t going to change his decision.
Oliver Hotel - New Orleans, LA
The Oliver is a great, quirky hotel in the French Quarter with a small pool and a courtyard filled with banana trees and tropical plants. Clean, but with lots of character. All the rooms are different. For 80 dollars a night I had a tiny suite overlooking the courtyard - very cute.
LaQuinta Inn - New Orleans, LA
This LaQuinta is located on Camp Street. It’s a very nice hotel. Way cheaper than the hotels on Bourbon or Canal St. Only 2 blocks away from the action! Very clean and comfortable. Affordable prices comparing to big name hotels.
