Radisson Resort at the Port – Cape Canaveral, FL

If you are planning a cruise out of Cape Canaveral, the Radisson Resort is a great place to stay before of after your trip. We booked a cruise and stayed here for several nights before we boarded and again for the night after we returned. They have a great “Key West” atmosphere that got us in the mood for our sailing.

The resort is the closest to the port, only about a mile away and offers free parking while you’re on your cruise… which can save you quite a bit in port parking fees. They also offer a free shuttle service to and from the port. Once we returned from our cruise, our last night here was a great way ease back into the real world.

The Radisson Resort staff is very accommodating and the rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. A large free-form pool, hot tubs, tennis court, restaurant, and gift shop are just a few of the ammenities.

Considering what you get for the price, I would rate the Radisson Resort at the Port an 8 on a scale of 1-10.

Marriott Riverfront – Savannah, GA

This Marriott has a gracious staff… from housekeeping to front desk. The view from our riverfront balcony was awesome, seeing 7 – 8 story ships pass within a few yards was fun. Breakfast at “Riveredge”, the hotel restaurant, was great, with omlettes cooked to order in front of you, as well as Belgian waffles. The room was comfy, with a bit of elbow room at the two-part desk, a nice touch for those of us with laptops.

The hotel is convenient to riverwalk, but the water taxi does NOT go to the Marriott dock any longer. Make other arrangements or be prepared to walk to the next dock. Parking as a guest was $10 a day, and phone calls are a buck. *sigh*

Other that that, we had a great stay and recommend the Marriott Riverfront to everyone.

Orange Lake Resort – Orlando, FL

This is the absolute best of all the Orlando area resorts. Orange Lake is about 4 miles from Disney and has rooms that sleep 5-8. Studio, 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom. They have a HUGE entertainment complex which includes an in house movie theatre, game room, etc. Each night is a different pool side party! Even a Luau.

They have an 80 acre private lake with every kind of lake activity that you could think of (water skiing, speed boats, paddle boats, canoes, etc.) They also have in house car rental, entertainment discount ticket sales, tennis, miniature golf, many restaurants, shopping, a grocery store… even and Arnold Palmer golf course.

This is an EXCELLENT family resort! It’s our FAVORITE and we have been going to Disney every year for the past 11 years. This is the stuff that makes you keep on coming back to Orlando. It’s all smiles at this resort!
