Mariott Residence Inn Oyster Point - San Francisco, CA
Nice place-free yellow beer during ‘hospitality hour (caveat: local calls are 50 cents each, and they DON’T inform you in advance)
Grand Hotels Pickwick - San Francisco, CA
This is an old hotel. Staff not helpful. They charged our credit card three months after our visit because they chose to not accept a travel voucher. 120 other customers were charged also.
Town and Country Resort - San Diego, CA
This is suspossed to be a 5 star resort. Not. The price was great, but that’s about it. We stayed there for one week and a couple of waitresses and gift shop staff was not overly friendly for most of our stay. The property looks great in the front (its spread out over 23 acres) but there are few sidewalks and you have to walk in the road way and keep an eye out for cars and errent golf carts zipping around. Not safe if you have little kids walking with you. The rooms were clean, but very small and cramped. Our double bed had bottom sheets that did not cover the entire mattress (@3/4 way down the mattress) and we arrived back to our room one evening to find our wiindow wide open apparently carelessly left unlocked by the cleaning lady.) This was a big no-no. Luckily we had not left any valuables in our room and nothing was missing but nevertheless, not a plus when giving out a rating for this hotel. Oh did I mention how dark the hallways are. There is nothing worse than walking down a dimly lit hotel hallway at night!. The bathroom again was small and lacked any place to hang clothing, etc. No handles or stability bar in the tub for elderly people either.
Ramada Inn & Suites Gas Lamp District - San Diego, CA
The statement " you get what you pay for" was certainly true of this hotel. The price was great, but that’s about it. We stayed there for one week and the desk staff was not overly friendly for most of our stay. The rooms were clean, but very small and cramped. Our double bed had bottom sheets that did not cover the entire mattress (@3/4 way down the mattress) and we arrived back to our room one evening to find our door unlocked (apparently carelessly left unlocked by the cleaning lady.) The bathroom again was small and lacked any towel bars or places to hang clothing, etc. No handles or stability bar in the tub for elderly people either.
Radisson Harbor View - San Diego, CA
We stayed here the end of September. I had reserved 2 rooms, as we were meeting my daughter and son-in-law there from Camp Pendleton. I was aprehensive, after reading several bad reviews (after the reservations were made) and contemplated canceling, but decided to try it anyway. I was pleasantly relieved. This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in in years. The staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasand. Gary, the front desk clerk, was phenominal. We were on the 9th floor, and had a beautiful view of approaching airplanes, without the noise.
