Sometimes everything is book up and you have to take what’s left… that’s what happened to us on a recent trip to Orlando. This Quality Inn was one of only a few with available rooms, so we booked it.
While we realized we were probably lucky we even found a place, it was still a dissapointment. This Quality Inn is an older motel and it shows it’s age. Rooms were OK, with obvious wear and the grounds were cluttered with litter. Kids were everywhere, unattended and raising hell. Outside the room in the parking lot, someone was changing their oil. Get the picture?

Our notes on the Sheraton North Shore…

1) Reservations - Sheraton somehow deleted our original reservation, then when we made another attempt to reserve our rooms, the reservation was incorrect

2) Hotel was incredibly noisy after 10PM with far too many minors as guests. Either there were not enough chaperones for these people or the chaperones were not enforcing rules. On all three nights of our stay we encountered noisy guests in the halls on our floor.

3) Housekeeping staff was completely incapable of communicating with the guests due to language barriers. On three separate occasions our requests to housekeeping for simple things such as towels or a bathtub plug were not completed.

4) Room service trays were in the halls for more than a day.

**5) We had an incident on the last night of our stay where a minor came to our room at midnight posing as a member of the Sheraton housekeeping staff. We promptly notified hotel management of the incident. This same individual returned to our room 20 minutes later again knocking on our door pretending to be housekeeping. This action resulted in an altercation between this individual and myself. After the incident, I ran to the desk and had a heated discussion with both the on-duty manager and security manager informing them that if it happened again, I would be calling the Northbrook police.

Very nice hotel with a small kitchen. Just six miles from Kings Island. Reasonable rates. Mostly business people stay there. Not as busy or expensive as the hotels near Kings Island.

This Art Deco hotel in South Beach is in an excellent location (corner 9th on Collins) and has a great covered patio for you to enjoy their adequate complimentary breakfast. The lobby is also interesting, but the rooms lacked comfort (the bed was horribly uncomfortable and noisy - no not just squeaky!) and attention and the bathroom we had was, to be p.c., "cosmetically-challenged".
