House of Blues Hotel - Chicago, IL
I travel to Chicago (and elsewhere) on a regular basis and this is the best downtown hotel I have ever stayed at..bar none. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and I have never had a problem that was not resolved immediately. The hotel is walking distance from excellent food and world class shopping on Michigan avenue. Across the driveway from the hotel is the House of Blue Restaraunt and music venue where you can see top musicians nightly.
Fairfield Inn - Livonia, MI
This is the best Hotel in the area for the price. Good temperatures for both pool and whirlpool hot tub. Rooms nice, typical Marriott; good breakfast.
Best Western Georgian Inn - Detroit, MI
This hotel is conveniently located on Gratiot just north of I96. Has very nice check in lobby and banquet facilty. Nice courtyard with outdoor pool,(not practical for MI)which most rooms face so it is a nice view, and good continental breakfast. The rooms are nice looking, but the electrical is in bad need of some updating. Our family stayed in quite a few of the rooms due to a wedding reception at the banquet room and all had the same complaint; All the electrical plugs were so loose you could not keep anything plugged in; it would just fall out.
Days Inn Airport - Cleveland, OH
This place is a total DUMP! Dirty, Dirty, Dirty! Smoky, bugs, broken down in every way. What a disgrace.
Radisson Resort at the Parkway - Kissimmee, FL
The "Kissimmee Strip" (US 192) seems like an endless ribbon of shopping malls, hotels and gift shops and, although the Radisson Resort is located just off the strip, it’s in a far less hectic area. Their ads describe the property as "20 acres of tropical paradise"… a bit of a stretch, but the resort is relatively quiet and very nicely landscaped. I wouldn’t mind staying here all day while the rest of the family packs in the car and heads for the theme parks.
